Follow the Bunny for Mojo Monday # 491 & Global Design #081

This will be a short post because there is just a bit of time before the challenges for this week close. We tried to follow the color challenge for Global Design and the design sketch for Mojo Monday.   First up is Karen’s card.

The sweet images and sentiment are from Whipper Snapper stamps and are loads of fun. Great whimsy! The outside is cheerful and bright too. A great Springtime card.

This is Robyn’s card with lots of bright color and fun pattern. I love how she combines the different designs.  Papers are from Stampin’ Up.

Here are the sketches we followed:

I will try to be more prompt next week with our blog and have everyone’s card here for you.  See you soon!

Happy Easter for Mojo Monday # 490

We have just a bit of whimsy for you this week with our collection of cards.  As Easter just around the corner and Spring in full swing, we created cards with fun Springtime characters.   Not a planned thing, but with all the options out there it’s not hard to find cute images.  Here is Karen’s card:

Her sweet chick in a fun disguise is from Stampingbella’s Cool Chicks collection.   Very fun and cleverly colored with watercolor pencils (which she recently received from one of her “sisters”).  If you haven’t tried watercolor pencils, you should.  They are fun, easy to use, and an easy clean up.

This is Robyn’s creation with her cute peeking bunny.   This rabbit is from Stampin’ Up’s current Paper Pumpkin as is the tiny sentiment and clip.

This is my card with some silly chicks getting ready for Spring. They are also from Stampingbella.  I too used colored pencils and continue to work on my technique. I struggle with the blending.  Here is the sketch we used:

We hope we’ve brought some smiles your way and maybe a little inspiration.  Please leave a comment if you see something you liked and check out more ideas at the Mojo Monday site.

Multi Challenge Cards

This week we decided to create cards for three different challenges.   The Global Design Project, Mojo Monday #481, and The Verve Blog.  Here are the challenge criteria:

We have some very sweet Valentines for you so let’s get started.  First this week is Karen’s creation in blues and pinks.  Her stitched rectangles and stitched hearts add nice dimension, while her Heart Layers from Spellbinders background provides a sweet foundation to her card.  The envelope flap is Hearts & Arrows from Li’l Inkers.

Next is my card in shades of pinks.  My papers are from Reverse Confetti’s Combo Cardstock # 4.   It’s their January release collection and very fun.  The polka dot background is from Papertrey Ink’s Polka Dot Parade and is peeking from behind a Spellbinder’s scalloped heart.  With a bit of embossed striped paper for the rectangle, a bit of 1/8″ gingham ribbon, and a few pearls as embelishment and my card is complete.

Finally, we have Robyn’s card with its colorful collection of Pocket Blossoms Papers from DCWV at Michaels.  A few punches from a heart stamp cut in half and a bit of 1/8″ polka dot ribbon and there you have her sweet card.

So, have you been wondering about our sentiments?  Aren’t they cute?   They are from a fun collection on Julee Tilman’s blog The Verve Blog.  She is offering free downloads of love messages with an opportunity to win a $40 gift voucher.  Please check out this site and join in the fun.  We will be there and would love for you to join us!

Free Styling With the Sisters

This week we decided to create our own criteria for a challenge.  We decided to make cards using Penny Black stamps we’d been given for Christmas and not yet used.  We’ve included thank-you and birthday cards so let’s get started.

This is my note card sized thank-you card with a cute hedgehog from my new Penny Black set Wonderful.  I’ve used my Lil’ Inkers die Silly  Stitched to outline my circle and scraps of paper from Stampin’ Up that were lying around my workspace.  Using an aqua painter I colored this image with SU inks:  Pink Pirouette, Sahara Sand, Real Red, & a bit of Smokey Slate.  The sentiment is from SU’s Vertical Greetings.

Next is Karen’s birthday card using her new Penny Black stamp from U R the Gift.  It’s also colored with an aqua painter using SU inks:  Wisteria Wonder,  Real Red, Pink Pirouette, & just a touch of Early Expresso.  The sentiment is from Simon Says’ Birthday Celebrations.

Finally we have another Thank-You card this time from Robyn.  The image is from Penny Black’s Smile All Day collection.  Once again colored with an aqua painter with inks not known.  Her paper is from a Recollections pad called Holiday Lodge.

We hope you will have time to do some card making soon and perhaps something we’ve shared will inspire you.  Thanks for stopping by.

Jolly for Mojo # 473

I will try to get our Mojo post for last Monday out before the new one hits the air.  With the combination of travel and a house guest I’ve gotten away from my routine.  It has all been good, but I haven’t seen my craft space in some time.  So here we go.   This was last week’s sketch:

First is Karen’s holiday card. She used Lawn Fawn’s Perfectly Plaid-Christmas and a stamp set from The Cat’s Pajamas that is very versitle and fun.

My card is also a holiday creation.  The black plaid is from My Mind’s Eye Comfort & Joy collection.  The cute reindeer is from Stickable Stamps colored with pencil.  A couple of stitched ovals and a bit of sparkle from Stickles complete the look.

Here is Robyn’s sweet holiday card.  Using the Stampingbella Mr. Penguin Helps Ramona image as her focal point , a sentiment from Merry Mice (SU) and their Softly Falling embossing folder her card is a fun holiday card to make and receive.

Thanks for your visit and consider clicking the”follow” button to receive more fun creations from us.  With the holidays ahead we have many good projects in store.   We hope you visit again soon!

Joy and Peace for Mojo Monday #470

Thanks for stopping in this week.  We have some fun cards to share, so let’s get started.  First, this is the design sketch we used:

We begin with Karen’s card  created for the holidays.  With a mix of paper from her scrap box and some simple stitched shapes from Papertrey Ink’s Noted-Scalloped Shapes her card begins to come together.  A little button embelishment from Jesse James & Co. Christmas Button Assortment and a bit of striped washi tape on her envelope finishes her card off just right.

My card is next also with a holiday theme.  My focal point is another Penny Black stamp that is ever so cute, don’t you think?  It’s called A Thorny Affair and I gifted it to my stamping friend Robyn with the understanding that I could stamp a few images for my own collection.  (Friends are allowed to do that!)   I used an aqua painter and some Stampin’ Up ink to color the image–fast, fun, and ever so easy.

To end our collection this week is Robyn’s Halloween card.  Very dark and spooky I think.  By using Stampin’ Up’s Halloween Night DSP, a bit of a spider doilie (retired Stampin’ Up), and Li’l Inker’s Spooky die, she has created a fun card sure to give a scare to the receipient.

We hope you enjoyed perusing through our collection this week and will check out more of this week’s offerings at the Mojo Monday site.  Please leave a comment if you would by scrolling way down to the bottom of the page.  It’s a bit of a distance, but we would appreciate the effort.

Combined Challenges

This week we put together cards that fill the design requirements for Mojo Monday 457 and the Global Design Project.   We hope you enjoy perusing through our creations and find something that inspires you.  Here are the design sketches we followed:

This is Sharon’s whimsical card.  The little chick is from from the Cool Chicks collection of Stampingbella.  After stamping the chick with black ink she used colored pencils from Prismacolor to create a sweet image.  Using pencils was fun and surprisingly easy.  The rest of the card is a combination of pieces of Bazzil & Papertrey Ink papers.  Other embelishments include stamped hearts from Stampin’ Up’s Work of Art in Melon Mombo (also from SU), and a tiny Enamel Shape heart.

This is Robyn’s fresh card with a sweet summertime flower image.  Using the Small Dot embossing folder from Sizzix, a flower stamp from Recollections, and a jar image from Paper Smooches she shows us how we can get a great look with a variety of products from several sources.

This is Karen’s card that reminds us of how important it is to keep in touch.  Sending simple little notes is a good practice and are always well received.  Her use of Stampin’ Up’s For the Birds is a delightful choice for her card, and provides a great interpretation of this week’s sketches.

Thanks for visiting us this week.  We love making cards and sharing them with you.  We encourage your comments and hope you will return.
