Just two sisters with cards this week, but plenty of ideas as we combined two challenges together again. These are the sketches we followed:
We begin with Robyn’s fun creation of clever ideas with a nautical theme for the Global Design Project. Not having much in the way of nautical products didn’t stop her from creating a very fun fish with Stampin’ Up’s What’s Your Type (discontinued). Using some Glossy Accents for bubbles and the fun DSP By the Shore also from SU, Robyn created her clever nautical themed card. With panels of DSP and Delightful Denim & Very Vanilla cardstock she was able to use the Mojo Monday design quite effectively too.
I created two separate cards for my submissions to this week’s challenges. My first creation includes a sweet Stampingbella character from the Cool Chicks collection called Budding Chick. Having recently attended a coloring class, I had to experiment with what I learned. I’m liking the ease of using colored pencils and am working on getting better at shading. The DSP panels are from Stamps of Life’s Together Collection and a fun glossy heart from SU.
The second card is one we made in the coloring class I mentioned above. The design was created by Peggy Jo at Pink Ink Stamp Co., but colored and put together by me. Peggy Jo is a remarkable illustrator and great teacher. She travels the country sharing her illustrating ideas and I encourage you to check out her classes. She also has fun stamps available online as well. I have a long way to go, but find using the techniques I learned to be valuable and fun.
That’s all for this week. We hope you found something to inspire you. Please leave a comment if you would as we always like to hear from our readers.
