Hello for GDP #034

Karen and I found a few minutes earlier this week to give the Global Design Project a try.  The challenge was fun because you had so many options.  This is the sketch we followed:

Karen’s card with its simple hello greeting is a beautiful  study in pastels.  The cheery English Garden DSP from Stampin’ Up makes this card sing, and the stitched ovals from Memory Box create a simple elegance.  The Mint Macaron, So Saffron, and Very Vanilla also from SU add just the right background to pull her creation together nicely.

My card is from the same sketch, and shows the great versatility of this challenge.  I used watercolor pens and the Rose Red ink pad from Stampin’ Up for the background.  With just a touch of Old Olive I turned the background into a floral image–perhaps a tulip I think.  Using the fun ‘happy’ die from Whimsical Stamps I cut the sentiment and lifted it by cutting the same image from coaster board.  A bit of stamping in Smokey Slate with the Gorgeous Grunge collection and two candy dots rounds out this project.

We hope you found some inspiration in our cards and will visit again soon.  You might also like to visit the GDP blog at for more inspiration.

Thanks for your visit,

  1. Those are both darling cards. Love Karen’s colors and the floral watercolor on Sharon’s is very clever. You both get a “gold star”.

  2. Oh I love that you’ve got a shared blog! It goes to show how creative we each are in our own ways with these two very different, but both beautiful cards! Thanks so much for joining in with this week’s Global Design Project!

  3. Well done ladies!!! I love differently people interpret the sketches every week. Keep up the good work. Make sure you pin your project to the official Global Design Project Pinterest Board. Thank you so much for playing along with this week’s Global Design Project challenge xx
