Sweet Sunday Sketch 271

Silly me! I almost forgot to enter our cards into this week’s challenge so there will be two posts on Snipin’ Sisters today.  Here is Sweet Sunday’s  sketch followed by our cards:

Sharon’s Card

I chose to create a birthday card as summer is a big birthday time in our family.  With all that summer brings, having cards made ahead is a great timesaver.  My biggest issue with this is however, I can’t always remember where I’ve put them when the birthday comes.  Does that happen to anyone else?  (I think I sense a theme in this post today.)  I used Doodlebug’s Birthday Bash paper reversing the sides.  The background paper is Pink Pirouette from Stampin’ Up and the ‘birthday ‘ embossing folder is from Sizzix.  The circles are a 2″ starburst framelit and  a 1 3/8″ circle punch both from SU.  The sentiment is from Alleyways’s Cake Day.

Karen’s Card

Karen’s patchwork background paper is from Archivers (not sure of the design)  and her other papers are from The Paper Studio.  She used the Spellbinders 2 3/4″ scalloped-circle framelit combined with the 2″ circle punch from Stampin’ Up for her focal points.  The sentiment, a Michael’s stamp, and Candy Dots also from SU make a clean and simple embellishment. A quick fun card!

Thanks for visiting and we hope you stop back again!

  1. This is a great layout. It lends itself to a lot of interpretations. Love the cheerful colors you both used for your cards.
