Not Your Typical Birthday Card

Here is a birthday card I made this week.  It is patterned after a card featured on Dawn Griffith’s blog, Dawn’s Stamping Thoughts (www.dawnsstampingthoughts.net).  She calls it a “Double Gatefold Double Peek-A-Boo Card” and there is a great video with clear directions and simple measurements.  I’ve put my own spin on it, but basically it’s a 3-fold card that provides an opportunity for you to get those creative juices flowing.  You use 8 1/2″ x 11″ cardstock and it folds into an A2 size for easy mailing.

There are so many options for this format.  I’m thinking of what a cute Halloween or Christmas card this would make.  My plan is to use this one to hold a gift card for an upcoming birthday for our granddaughter.  Here is a list of supplies:

Paper:  Soft Sky–Stampin’ Up (card base), plaid–Recollections, Petite Prints–Dooddlebug (yellow)

Punches:  1 1/2″ square & 2″ scallop–Recollections, 2″ circle & Label Love, & Cupcake Builder–Stampin’ Up

Stamps:   Celebrate Today & Label Love–Stampin’ Up, Cake Day–Alley Way Stamps

I hope you will give this card a try.  It’s a lot of fun!

Thanks for visiting,

Sharon
