Recently I’ve been experimenting with watercolor to decorate some of my stamped images. This technique is nothing new, but is new to me. It’s really simple, very forgiving, and lots of fun. I stamp the outline of my image in black Stazon ink. Then I dip my brush into water, load the brush with color from my ink pad and away I go. If the color is too intense just add a little water with the brush and repaint that section. I’ve used both card stock and watercolor paper. See the results below. The top picture is done with card stock and the second one is on watercolor paper . Both papers seem to work.
I hope you will give this a try. The best part about this technique is that you probably already have everything you need.
Each Monday we participate in a card making challenge over at Susan Itell’s Stampin Simple. Susan has great sketches for us to try that help develop our style.
This challenge was to create a 3D project. We made nail file holders for your purse. It is a great way to use your scraps, and we had so much fun we decided to make several. There is a great “How To” video on YOU TUBE if you search for Simply Simple Pretty Little Nail File. If you do, we challenge you to only make one!
